How an amendment is ratified:
Ratify- Verb. to sign or give formal consent to a treaty, contract, or agreement making it officially valid.
- 2/3 votes from both houses of congress (The House of Representatives & Senate)
- 2/4 of the states request a Constitutional Convention, but this method has never been used.
How an amendment is ratified:
- 3/4 of states choose to ratify an amendment
- Congress can set a time limit on ratification (Seven years)
